SwissPL Watch Company And Dale “Snort” Snodgrass Join Forces.
Beginning of 2010 was rather busy for Alldaron, having sold the watch company that was started in 2005 by him and his father (Jon D.) to an investor, he formed a new company called SwissPL - which offers private label Swiss timepieces in small quantities for under $1,000 each. This is a unique opportunity to produce an individually customized timepiece made in Switzerland, which till now was completely unheard of. The tradition in Switzerland, dating back a hundred years, demanded that if you wanted to produce your own private label watch by adding your name or company logo to the face then you had to order 300 or even 500 units. What made matters worse is you couldn’t easily find the manufacturing companies, which were a closely guarded secret in Switzerland. This excluded all but wealthy people from making Swiss watches.
For close to 10 years now Alldaron has been involved in the watch industry. Noticing a trend shift from retail to online sales years before the watch industry cared, he formed a Swiss watch company, partnered with his father, to be sold exclusively online in 2005. This was at a time when people said it would never work, they were crazy, they would go bankrupt. A common reply was, “People don’t buy Swiss watches online”. Looks like they were wrong.
Between the years 2005 to 2010, their company sold tens of thousands of watches online, cultivating satisfied customers reflected in the thousands of positive feedbacks they received. Their business approach was on a more personal level trying to focus on customer service over profit. Through this they built lasting friendships with their customers, which created a lot of referral sales. The company was sold in 2010 to an investor.
Alldaron attended the Wings Over Miami Gala event in 2007 where he had the great pleasure of meeting legendary Navy F-14 Tomcat Top Gun pilot and renowned air-show performer Captain Dale “Snort” Snodgrass, or “Snort” as he is called. With over 4900 flight hours and 1200+ carrier landings in the famed Grumman F14 Tomcat, Snort is the most experienced Tomcat pilot in the world and a highly decorated combat veteran. At the end of Desert Storm, he was promoted from Commander to Navy Captain given the honor of commanding all the F-14 Tomcats in the U.S. Navy.
Dale is the only pilot approved to fly in both the U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight Program and the U.S. Navy Legacy Flight Program. Dale and Alldaron had a similar attitude towards business and partnered for a special edition Wings Of Gold watch, which was produced in limited quantity. Throughout the years, they formed a friendship and when Alldaron started SwissPL he contacted Dale, who was immediately on board.
Normally Swiss manufacturers don’t produce single units, but over the years Alldaron, and his father, formed a personal relationship with them which caused them to agree to this unique arrangement, a special partnership, for SwissPL.com - The Swiss manufacturing company has been continuously producing hand-made watches since about 150 years, catering to the needs of some of the world’s top watch brands. They utilize only the best materials and machines, and their watchmakers are seasoned experts. SwissPL’s manufacturing partner makes high quality watches rivaling companies costing thousands more, for a fraction of the cost; they even sell their own line as a recognized luxury brand in Europe, the Middle East and Asia ranging in price from $2,650 to $6,500.
The custom watches offered by SwissPL are 42mm in case size with a 22mm steel Oyster bracelet; being constructed of surgical grade stainless steel alloy, with solid end-pieces, screws in the links (not pins); the clasp has a professional diving extension. The glass is sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment. The numbers and markers on the dial are in Super-Luminova phosphorous (glow in the dark) paint. The watch is pressure tested to 1000 feet (which is 300 meters).
Attending multiple invite-only reunions and military events, Dale and Alldaron are working with U.S. military units from the Navy, Air Force and Army producing custom timepieces for them. Many great partnerships are in store for the near future for the SwissPL.com team including a major racing partnership, and a Hollywood film project.
